Rustic and Remarkable Reno

Reno 2

A top ski destination mixed with small town makes the Reno Tahoe area a great escape.  As you fly into Reno, your visit is the first glance of this mountain community.  Scattered casino hotels, well known dining options and a laid back sense of community has made this a city welcome to big city dwellers. Where you are in town for the cowboy festivals, the chili challenges, the sports events or just a gambling getaway this town offers it all in one town. Before you drive through Reno to reach Tahoe take the time to see Virginia City, as this old west town is a step back in time.

Reno

The shoot outs in Main Street to the holiday parades, to the original gold mine in the middle of the town all take you to the 1800’s.  This town is ripe with old west saloons, historic churches and quaint cemeteries.

A thirty minute drive from Virginia City to Tahoe, which covers Lake Tahoe both the California and Nevada sides are a quick and easy getaway for the west coast resident.  This small town is a charming reminder that small towns have a lot to offer.  The luxury of the Ritz Carlton, the only five star ski-in ski-out resort in California, is a retreat from the everyday.  The Mountain Concierge to the Fire pit Director was a luxury experience.  A visit to downtown Tahoe with the great dining options, shopping opportunities and carriage rides, make all visitors warm and fuzzy inside.   For the more adventurous a stop at the Tahoe Treetop adventure park Ropes Course, Skyjump Bungee Trampoline, Climbing Wall, and Mini Golf course, a perfect place to take a break from skiing.   For those who drive their own accommodations, a variety of campgrounds are available.  An overnight or a few days stay, the cool morning air over a campfire coffee, set in the deep green pine trees of the area, make the trip worth it all.
